Explore Rwenzori

People Don’t Take, Trips Take People

Rwenzori is the gateway to Uganda’s most beautiful sceneries and unique natural environments, offered by the western arm of the Rift Valley. The region is strategically endowed with numerous geographical features such as the snow-capped Mountains of the Moon, numerous crater lakes, national parks, home to a variety of primates, birds, and other flora and fauna. The region also boasts hills, endemic flora and fauna, and some of the most beautiful, peaceful, and hospitable people.

Despite these remarkable attributes, the region lacks the necessary basic infrastructure to effectively promote and market tourism. The visibility of its natural endowments and significant potential is very poor, which significantly impacts sector investment potential, growth, and development. In addition to the lack of digital marketing, the region also lacks branded signages that can physically showcase its endowments and provide directions to key tourism facilities, sites, and attractions. This deficiency limits the number of visitors coming to the region, the length of their stay, and ultimately affects tourism receipts.

There is a variety of accommodation facilities catering to all categories of visitors, along with tour operators and guides, developed connectivity, amenities, and a generally conducive environment for tourism to thrive in the region.
